To formally end the buwan ng wika celebration, Filipino club headed by its club adviser Mrs. Teresa Cortez conducted the culminating activity which highlighted the coronation of Lakan at Lakambini ng Wika 2019 where Mcneil Serdan of STEM 11 - DNA and Lady Fatima Aballa of HUMMS 12 - Empire won the title on August 29, Thursday.
Serdan said that he felt nervous because the costume might be expensive but he has an experience and is somehow confident already. He said that he was not expecting to win the title since there were many attractive contestants and costumes. According to him, he is happy that he has won the title as Lakan ng Wika 2019 despite that he kept it secret to his mother that made it surprised, making him feel that his mother, classmates, and class adviser, Mr. Allen Carl Bartolome are all proud of him.
"Patutunayan ko na deserving ako sa title na nakuha ko," Serdan added.
Meanwhile, Aballa said in a statement that it was enjoying since it was her first time to join. She said that she was not expecting to win the title since she has no experience in pageants. According to her, she is proud of herself for having won the title as Lakambini ng Wika 2019 and she feels that her classmates and parents are also proud of her.
Meanwhile, Mark Anthony Gupit of HE 11 - Ganache and Tammy Ghen Gepte of HE 11 - Flambe were crowned Lakan at Lakambini ng Kultura, Andy Baloloy of HE 11 - Flambe and Arianne Louise Betorio of HUMMS 11 - State won the Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalikasan title, Dave Bajen of HUMMS 11 - Nation and Ciara Mae Pelayo of STEM 11 - DNA got the 1st runner up, Remloyd Coraza of ICT 12 - Raid and Bea Marie Rivas of HE 12 - Allumet were placed in the 2nd runner up while Jerome Bonito and Hizzel Sagga of HE 12 - Batonnet remained as top 6 finalist.
There were also special awards where Gupit and Aballa got the Pinakamaningning na Rehiyunal na Kasuotan while Bonito and Pelayo got the Pinakamaningning na Pambansang Kasuotan award.
"Ako ay nasisiyahan sa matagumpay na pagtatapos ng buwan ng wika. Huwag nating kalilimutan ang turo sa atin ng temang "Wikang Katutubo tungo sa Isang Bansang Filipino" na pangalagaan ang mga katutubong wika. Nawa ay magsilbing inspirasyon ang lahat ng nagwagi at nagkamit ng parangal sa araw na ito," said Mrs. Cortez.
