CZSHS first ever press confab sparks aspiring campus scribes

To prepare the aspiring campus journalists in the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference on September, school paper adviser in English, Mrs. Marian Tayamora, and school paper adviser in Filipino, Mrs. Teresa Cortez, together with one of the campus journalism trainers, Mr. Aaron Dy, conducted the Cielito Zamora Senior High School first ever press conference on June 28, Friday.

The language group head, Ms. Angel Lyn Allones and the master teacher for academic track, Mr. Windelle Morales spoke and were also in the press conference.

Ms. Allones in her message remarks said that writing is an important tool to a writer, student, or citizen, because it can help enhance creativity.

“Huwag nating itigil and pagsusulat,” said Ms. Allones.

Meanwhile, Mr. Morales highlighted to the campus journalists the importance of writing which can be used in their future and lead to an improvement in their life.

The press conference proper started through an unfolding ceremony led by one of the school teachers, Mr. Erwin Mariano.

There had lecture discussions and competitions on the different categories enumerated as news writing or pagsulat ng balita, editorial writing or pagsulat ng pangulong tudling, and feature writing or pagsulat ng lathalain which were handled by Mrs. Tayamora. Photojournalism or pagkuha ng larawang pampahayagan and lay-outing or pagdidisenyo ng pahina were handled by Mrs. Cortez. Meanwhile, editorial cartooning or paglalarawang tudling, copyreading and headlining or pagwawasto at pag-uulo ng balita, and radio broadcasting or pamamahayag pangradyo were handled by Mr. Dy.

Cristia Saturnino of GAS 12 – General ranked first in the news writing category, Mcneil Serdan of STEM 11 – DNA won second place, Alaina Marie De Luna of HUMMS 11 – Nation got the third place, Joshua Gatus of STEM 11 – DNA was the fourth placer, and Tyron Lanada of STEM 11 – DNA ranked fifth.

Meanwhile, in the pagsulat ng balita category, Roselyn Cañotal of HUMMS 11 – State ranked first, Mary Ann Aballa of HUMMS 11 – Nation won second place, Dianne Kate Magbudhi of STEM 11 – DNA got the third place, and Ma. Renalyn Cañete of HUMMS 11 – Nation was the fourth placer.

De Luna ranked first in the editorial writing category, Trisha Mae Rodrigueza of HUMMS 12 – Empire won second place, and Ruston Roa of HUMMS 12 – Empire got the third place.

Meanwhile, in the pagsulat ng pangulong tudling category, Aballa ranked first, Krizia Mae Lundag of STEM 11 – DNA won second place, Leandro Tumanlao of STEM 11 – DNA got the third place, and Cañotal was the fourth placer.

Marcus Zildjian Briones of ICT 11 – Oblique ranked first in the feature writing category, De Luna won second place, Rodrigueza got the third place, and Alexandra Joy Resubal of GAS 11 – Minister was the fourth placer.

Meanwhile, in the pagsulat ng lathalain category, Lanada ranked first, Aballa won second place, and Lundag got the third place.

Lame Nrrick Estrada of STEM 11 – DNA ranked first in the pagkuha ng larawang pampahayagan category, Julie Anne Dandan of HUMMS 12 – Empire won second place, John Loyd Jardinel of STEM 11 – DNA got the third place, and Adonis Gayon of HE 11 – Flambe was the fourth placer.

Meanwhile, in the editorial catooning category, John Paul Taburzo of ICT 12 – Raid ranked first, Aljohn Arandia of STEM 11 – DNA won second place, Midas Jari Rullepa of STEM 11 – DNA got the third place, and Miguelito Quiño of HUMMS 11 – State was the fourth placer.

Reaneth Bialza, April Aquino, Mary Ann Joy Cuba and Rowena Balasta of HUMMS 11 – State, Trizia Mae Flores, Miles Christian Agaya and Gatus of STEM 11 – DNA, Renmar Soreda and Monica Limet of HUMMS 12 – Empire, Jhon Christopher Biliran of ICT 12 – Haskell, and Mark Landicho of HUMMS 12 – Dynasty were chosen for the radio broadcasting category.

Saturnino was the winner in the copyreading and headlining category while Lady Fatima Aballa of HUMMS 12 – Empire was the winner in the pagwawasto at pag-uulo ng balita category.
